Updated Parent Welcome Letter
October, 2021
Dear Parents,
We are delighted to welcome you to the Providence High School orchestra program for the 2021-2022 school year. The Orchestra Booster Club looks forward to working with you to continue the success of our students in this awesome program, under the new direction of Mr. David Vergato.
Mr. Vergato has an exciting schedule of events for orchestra this year, which will be posted soon at phsorch.weebly.com. The first concert is planned for 6:30pm on October 26th at PHS. Please be sure that your students are prepared with the proper concert attire (all black slacks/shirt or the concert dress). Following the concert, we encourage you to join us for a short Booster club meeting in the school cafeteria while your students are packing up their instruments.
CMS provides minimal funding to the orchestra program. The Booster Club was established to secure needed funds so that your child’s orchestral education can be more complete. As a parent of a current orchestra student, you are automatically a member of the Booster Club. Our budget funds items such as sheet music, contest fees and transportation, opportunities to work with guest clinicians, and other essential elements for a well-rounded curriculum. The orchestra program is funded beyond CMS primarily through student fees to the Orchestra Booster Club along with some outside fundraising.
Due to the Orlando trip, the Orchestra fee and dress fees due date has been postponed to January 15, 2022. We thank you in advance for your prompt payment. Payment can be made via:
To help offset the expense of the orchestra fees and/or trip, the Board is offering a fund-raising opportunity for the students. More information will be sent out shortly.
